The October 2024 issue of (614) Magazine featured some of Columbus’ own true crime cases across history. I designed the cover of this issue via a mixed media approach, using a combination of analog and digital artwork. I first created a physical detective board using art supplies and craft materials, which was then photographed; and I then edited it further digitally to create the final cover. In addition to including Easter Eggs from the true crime section, such as the Circleville Letter Writer, I also included photos and teasers from other stories in the magazine to compose the elements of the detective board.
